Dive into the world of books and art at Book & Look, where we explore themes inspired by the exhibition on view at the Chrysler Museum of Art. Black subjecthood and representation is the topic of the novel Erasure by Percival Everett, and an ideal framework to look at key works in the exhibition Define Yourself!, which is on view at the Chrysler Museum after an extensive and iterative tour at three Historically Black Colleges-Universities. Book & Look participants meet in the Museum’s Jean Outland Chrysler Library for introductions and light refreshments before heading into the galleries for conversation and art exploration.
